International Labour Organization (ILO)
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is the United Nations entity dedicated to improving labour conditions and living standards throughout the world. ILO focuses on promoting international labour standards, social protection, strengthening dialogue on work-related issues and decent work opportunities for all.
ILO is the oldest UN agency – older than the UN itself – and has been successfully running since 1919. Papua New Guinea became a member of the ILO in 1976.
